70. El perill del llibre únic / Danger on only one book

A Turkmenistan, totes les biblioteques i llibreries han tancat, la única font de lectura permesa és la oficial. El règim és de pensament únic. El llibre gegant (rhunama) d'aquesta foto és l'únic permés pel dictador -un llibre de "poemes" escrit per el principal torturador del país; turkmenbashi (el pare des turkmans, "president" des del 1992, recentment mort). Tots els altres llibres hans sigut "cremats", només queda aquesta merda, d'on han d'aprendre escoles i universitats.
In Turkmenistan, all libraries and bookstores have been closed, the only available sources of reading being the official ones. The regime is a pretty tough one. The giant book (ruhnama) on this picture is the only allowed by this dictatorship - a book of “poems” written by the main country’s torturer ; turkmenbashi (dad of Turkmen, “president” since 1992 - he recently passed away). All other books have been “burned” - just this piece of crap, schools and universities have to learn from.

11. Ràbia i tristesa

Entre 8 et 10.000 ouvrages ont été saccagés, dans la nuit de mercredi à jeudi 9 août, à l'abbaye de Lagrasse (Aude), qui accueille le Banquet du livre, une manifestation culturelle. Les vandales ont recouvert tous les livres de la librairie d'un mélange de gasoil et d'huile de vidange, avant d'y mettre le feu.
